Become pain free faster than you ever thought possible

Wendel Teixeira - providing sports therapy in the Sydney CBD area

Pain Management Specialist

Wendel’s treatment methodology incorporates a unique blend of diverse academic backgrounds, resulting in a comprehensive experience that surpasses traditional physiotherapy and remedial massage techniques. The primary objective is to globally realign all joints rather than solely focusing on the area of pain by interrelating the knowledge of body biomechanics in conjunction with highly developed manual skills. This approach facilitates proper physiological joint movement, enhancing the overall range of motion across all joints as it is important to recognize that pain is merely a symptom caused by various underlying factors, rather than the root cause itself.

Additionally, each treatment includes an individualized plan tailored to your specific needs on how to prevent further aggravation of the painful area, (taking into account your unique misalignments) plus guidance on functional step-by-step exercises provided in video format allowing treatment to focus on the aspect of body alignment) to promote improved body structure alignment and yield long-lasting results. What Clients say

It only took 2 sessions for Wendel to change my life. I have had migranes my whole life and have been debilitated by them or severe headaches daily for at least 12 years. I have been treated by so many people, including some of the best doctors in the world. No one has helped me like Wendel.

I had lost all hope and had accepted that this was my life. All of the options available to me were for maintenance and management at best. Thanks to him, I have good days again where I’ve been able to do things I haven’t done in years. Wendel has given me hope for the first time that I can have a life. That I could actually get better. I usually walk into his room quite unwell and walk out pain free.

I am blown away by Wendel’s expertise and mastery. I have so much respect for his skills and am always blown away by his ability to see with his hands. He’s also great fun and is full of kindness and compassion. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Wendel’s treatments are profound…the technique he has developed from his background as a physiotherapist and remedial therapist are outstanding. I have been seeing Wendel for over a period of 5 years and can honestly say hands down he is the best. I have seen other therapists, however if I have a chronic issue Wendel is the therapist I want to see.

Wendel’s extensive knowledge and understanding of the bodies mechanics is second to none. I can’t explain what he does but he is a Master in his field. He is also a kind and compassionate person and I can’t recommend him highly enough.

- Susan Neill

I was first treated by Wendel at Jackie’s Sports Massage, back in 2014. His combined strength, technique and knowledge helped rehabilitate my back more successfully than the numerous physiotherapists and massage therapists I had seen beforehand.

Subsequently, my partner and I both now receive regular treatment from Wendel, which has greatly improved our quality of life.

Over the years, Wendel has developed a unique treatment style capable of releasing severe muscle tension without constant discomfort often associated with sports massage.

We will definitely continue undertaking routine maintenance and seeking treatment with Wendel at his new practice, WST.

Wendell is a master of body relief, his technique is unlike any I have experienced in over 30 years of treatments. He makes the most profound changes to my body without me ever experiencing any pain at all. The only warning I make is it is very easy to become addicted to his treatments.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a remedial massage or physio treatment?

I provide a combination of both remedial massage and physio treatment. Utilizing deep tissue techniques and my extensive knowledge, I work on specific muscles to realign joints that are out of their correct alignment by identifying which joints are impacting the painful area, as misalignment often has a domino effect. It takes several affected areas to lead to pain, and I address these issues accordingly.

Can I claim on my private health fund?

Absolutely! All private health insurance is accepted for remedial massage services.

Why is the treatment not as painful as a regular remedial massage, even though you apply deep tissue pressure?

There is a distinction between tight muscles and tender muscles (tight muscles don’t exhibit any immediate signs of pain, but they contribute to soreness in other areas of the body). Tender areas usually indicate excessive pressure on the muscles beyond their capacity to handle. However, when both sides of the body are equally sore, it can be a sign of good exercise or at least even loading. In my approach, I focus on releasing overactive, stronger, and tight muscles that pull nearby joints out of alignment. These muscles are usually not tender, which explains why the treatment is less painful.

Why should body realignment come before rehab exercises in many cases?

In cases where there are inadequate physiological joint movements, muscles tend to fire in an incorrect sequence, or some may not engage properly at all. This can lead to issues such as improper joint movement, compression of tendons and other irregularities in the joints. By prioritizing full body realignment initially, we can achieve proper joint movement, making subsequent rehab exercises more effective and pain-free. This last step is crucial for a successful rehabilitation as in order to kill the pain your exercises must not be causing pain.

How many sessions are typically needed?

Pain serves as one type of feedback from your body when something is wrong, and my goal is to not only eliminate the pain but also significantly improve your overall well-being. Generally, a few sessions (usually ranging from 2 to 5 sessions weekly or fortnightly) are sufficient to reduce or eliminate pain for most individuals. Here are some factors that will influence the number of sessions required: The strength or weakness of your muscles and tendons, whether your condition is related to a specific sport or activities you have been actively engaged in for an extended period (such as golf or tennis for instance), and the chronicity (intensity and duration) of your pain.

What should you expect after the treatment?

Post-treatment experiences may vary based on factors such as your pre-existing mobility, the intensity and duration of your pain. Some common sensations following the session may include:

Feeling lightheaded due to the flushing out of toxins from tight muscles (which tend to have poorer blood perfusion, resulting in a build-up of toxins).

May be a momentary change in your balance as repositioning several joints alters your body's centre of mass and joints movement.

Slight discomfort or niggles in different areas, as redistributing pressure throughout the body can momentarily load weak tendons. However, these niggles typically subside within a couple of days as your body adjusts to the new alignment. These temporary discomforts are necessary for improving your body's alignment and overall well-being.

Relief from several types of headaches.

Improved muscles activation enhancing power and performance.

Common injuries

Neck / Headache / Migrane

Neck tightness is just the beginning of neck problems that can lead to headaches, severe migranes, TMJ issues and several other problems. To effectively (not just as a temporary relief) treat this matter, it is about a global and very specific body realignment (treating every individual accordingly to their VERY OWN body imbalances). I can show you how your neck should be within one session.

Lower Back / Sciatic

Having a rotated hip is a very common issue. This problem will impact the lower back severely affecting things such as, changes around muscles activation mechanic (making some muscles to engage too much whilst others only engage a little or not much at all) or compression of structures like the sciatic nerve for instance. It is a common approach to try fixing this problem primarily through exercise, (if you have tried this approach, you would have found that it can be quite difficult to activate a weak muscle and this is due to the poor joint alignment rather than lack of strength). Realigning, understanding, and educating on what is loading the pain throughout the day is key to ending the pain for good.

Knee / Ankle

Strengthening the knees is extremely important as the knees are one of the most loaded joints in our body. Managing to activate the muscles whilst your body is misaligned is difficult. For instance, trying to strengthen the VMO (VMO weaknesses leads to knee pain) by attempting to isolate this muscle whilst exercising is not actually possible. So, what then? The answer is in global body alignment allowing an optimal joint positioning which, in turn, leads to muscles being able to activate well.

Shoulder / Elbow / Hand

Shoulders are the most mobile joint in our body, shoulders tend to get loaded constantly with an excess of repetitive movements and loads (lots of times not evenly distributed due to computer mouse use at work, unilateral sports (baseball, tennis), being left or right-handed on normal daily activities, etc). FROZEN SHOULDER is a great example of how severe a shoulder injury can be but one that often would not occur if the scapula and humerus (as a simple example) were sitting in the correct angle. Having this proper alignment would prevent soft tissues from being compressed and muscles to not over or under activate.
